Thor: Love and Thunder - Movie Review

Movie Review
Title: Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
Director: Taika Waititi
Genre: Superhero, Comedy, Action

I just watched it on Disney+. I didn't watch it on theater because the reviews were so bad. But after I watched it I was like "What's wrong with those reviewers???"
This movie is AMAZING! It's not just a cinematic journey, but also a spiritual journey with our "og" avengers: Thor (Chris Hemsworth).
Thor is one of the most unique Avengers because through out his movies, his identity changed a lot! IDENTITY becomes Thor's most relevant keyword and Taika seems to know that. In this movie, Thor had to go back to New Asgard to protect it from Gorr the God-Butcher (Christian Bale) and dealt again with his long-forgotten past about being a superhero and his love life with Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who turned into the Mighty Thor.
The plot is simple and the comedy is solid. But what I love the most is the consistency about how Thor would always be worthy but at the same time, he was lost and confused after the Endgame event. The movie stays true about who Thor had become and where to bring him afterwards. It would be more beautiful if this was the farewell between us and Thor, before MCU goes into a new direction.
I also love Gorr as a antagonist who no longer has MCU's "villain problem". His character is well fleshed out, understandable, and sympathetic. Don't forget about the epic shadow-realm where the movie turned black and white as it just makes sense in this vast alien universe.
Maybe people who don't like this movie want something like the classic 'Captain America: Winter Soldier' or 'Thor: Ragnarok' direction. But for me, 'Thor: Love and Thunder' is an MCU movie taken to the next level with solid directing and lovely tale well-told.
It's not just romance, it's love. It's not just lightning, it's thunder! :) ⚡
